I awoke,
my perception perished.
I longed,
amongst what was my silence.
Amidst my loneliness I yearned for you
the soul I never met
but felt embodied too.
A tear fell
I wiped it away
It, just like me felt stray.
I understood its pity
falling from hurt eyes.
Outside my window
no stars to make the night.
Yet I hear their plea
surely they were more lost than me.
I felt their burden
and sensed they were distant too.
Stray stars in another galaxy
sorrowful as my fallen tear.
I wonder if ever they will be united
to enlace as one reality.
In skies of hope and love
it's where you are
and where I aspire to be.
It is your smile that is the reason my tears do fall.
It is the same smile that wipes them away.
Ok girl.. sorry to sit on this.. Let's do it now! :D
ReplyDeleteI awoke, my perception perished--> this line makes me think of all the wonders in dreams that we see.. for that few hours, our worlds are different, we are powerful to imagine it.. sometimes in dreams we're willing to accept mysteries.. and when we wake up, the perception of these mysteries and magic, disappears..
from the next two lines, i can see that you're saying that your silence is your loneliness.. that's so true.. i'm marvelling at this line, girl! loneliness is not just a physical silence but a silence in our souls, without being able to communicate and love.. wow! i am taken aback! the first time i read this, i felt an impact!
"the soul i never met but felt embodied to"--> my dear.. what a lovely, romantic line.. omg.. i love that you use soul.. there seems to be some sort of subconscious spiritual awakening in you.. i can sense it and i think Michael is the cause.. soul you never met.. here i thought you were talking about a soulful connection.. but then you added the words embodied to: this gives it a perfect balance.. a soul and a body.. like your soul is in his body, with him as long as he was walking the earth.. but now, his soul is with you.. because like he says (and you know it) "You and I were never separate, it's just an illusion" everytime you feel his touch and love, girl, don't forget he is embodied to you too.. ((:
"it, just like me, felt stray/ i understood its pity/ falling from hurt eyes" --> i love the way you speak of your tears.. maybe deep inside you feel you haven't established a true and deep connection with his soul, the one that you feel embodied to.. so you feel as though you were thrust out from him.. especially since he has passed on.. :( and it feels just like the way your tear has been pushed out from your eye, where it used to belong..
ReplyDeletei love how you take this little connection to the stars.. what occurs to me when you say, "surely they were more lost than me" is the physical distance.. of the stars from your window.. again, it may be subconsious that you're missing your star, Michael, physically.. although everyone says they feel him and see him in dreams, you may wish for at least a hug or a fleeting touch from him.. just a reassurance..
the burden you feel, could be your own. reflected on to the stars.. when you feel lost in the Night sky without the little markers.. like Michael wrote..
The stars may also be "lost" because they aren't at your window, at your sky, where they belong.. Maybe you're symbolising stars for yourself and Michael, as in after you pass on maybe (touch wood) and wondering if you'll ever see him again?? --> "i wonder if ever they will be united to enlace as one reality."
"In skies of hope and love/ is where you are/ and where i aspire to be" are you speaking of those stars which are lost and are in another galaxy? Michael too, he is there, but just a little distant.. yet you will join him one day girl.. omg it sounds so ominous but you know i mean it in a good way! (:
"it's your smile that is the reason my tears do fall/ it is the same smile that wipes them away" --> I love these last two lines.. mainly because even though you start out your poem so sad and even tearing, you end it off with hope.. His smile, your tear, the star.. all will be together one day, as you aspire to be.. it's beautiful how, even though Michael makes you miss him (though he doesn't intend to) he still make you forget your sorrow in the end, with a promise.. his promise because you know he loves you from wherever he is, constantly, for eternity, and all you are doing is trying to reach that love.. Love shouldn't make you cry.. it should make you smile.. So believe.. in yourself and Michael..
ReplyDeleteThis was an absolutely beautiful peace of work, ainey, i loved it so much.. you explained exactly how i feel sometimes.. you're gifted, because you are loved by your spirit guide..
